Infektionen durch gramnegative Erreger: Exazerbationen der COPD, bronchopulmonale Infektionen bei Mukoviszidose oder bei Bronchiektasen, Pneumonie, Hautinfektionen, Weichteilinfektionen.
Chronische eitrige Otitis media, akute Exazerbation einer chronischen Sinusitis, Harnwegsinfekte, Gonokokken-Urethritis, Gonokokken-Zervizitis, Epididymoorchitis, Beckenentzündung, gastrointestinale Infektionen, intraabdominale Infektionen, maligne Otitis externa, Knocheninfektionen, Gelenkinfektionen, Prophylaxe invasiver Infektionen durch N. meningitidis, Milzbrand (Prophylaxe und Therapie), vermutete bakterielle Infektion bei febriler Neutropenie.
Kinder, Jugendliche
Bronchopulmonale Infektionen durch P. aeruginosa bei Mukoviszidose (5–17 J.), komplizierte Harnwegsinfekte (>1 J., 3. Wahl), Pyelonephritis durch E. coli (>1 J., 3. Wahl), schwere Infektionen, Milzbrand (Prophylaxe und Therapie).
Erwachsene
Unkomplizierte Zystitis: 2×tgl. 250–500 mg.
Unkomplizierte Zystitis der präklimakterischen Frau, Gonorrhö, Prophylaxe invasiver Infektionen durch N. meningitidis: einmalige Dosis von 500 mg.
Milzbrand: initial i.v., dann p.o.: 2×tgl. 500 mg.
Andere Indikationen: 2×tgl. 500–750 mg «FI».
Kinder, Jugendliche
Mukoviszidose (5–17 J.), andere schwere Infektionen: 2×tgl. 20 mg/kg, max. 2×tgl. 750 mg.
Komplizierte Harnwegsinfekte, Pyelonephritis durch E. coli: >1 J. (3. Wahl): 2×tgl. 10–20 mg/kg, max. 2×tgl. 750 mg.
Milzbrand: initial i.v., dann p.o.: 2×tgl. 10–15 mg/kg, max. 2×tgl. 500 mg.
