Ergänzung zur Insulintherapie.
Insulinbedarf <40 E: >18 J.: initial: 500–1000 mg tgl., gleichzeitig Insulindosis alle 2 Tage um 2–4 E reduzieren.
Insulinbedarf >40 E: >18 J.: Kombinationstherapie stationär einleiten; am 1. Metformin-Therapie-Tag Insulindosis um 30–50% reduzieren, dann schrittweise Reduktion der Insulindosis gemäss Glykämie.
